If 200 mL of an 11% solution is diluted to 1500 mL what is the strength of the solution?

Here's the set-up: (equation)

(200mL)(.11%)+(1300mL)(.00%)   = (1500mL)(X%)

Work out the math:

(200mL)(.11%)+(1300mL)(.00%) = (1500mL)(X%)

(200mL)(.11%)   =  (1500mL)(X%)

            22   =   1500X

          X       =     .0147

          X     =   1.5% (the solution is now 1.5%)
