PTCB Exam Registration

(Houston, Tx)

I was a pharm tech trainee and my registration expired two years ago, And, I know it can't be renewed anymore, so my question is: Even though it's expired, can I still apply to take the PTCB exam and become a certified pharmacy technician?

Based on what you are saying, I would say yes.

There is no requirement to registering for and taking the PTCB or ExCPT exams, besides their brief background check and paying the fee. Someone without any experience or training whatsoever in pharmacy or health-care could register online and walk in and take the exam. With some luck, that same person could pass the Pharmacy tech test and put the CPhT designation behind their name.

I'm not trying to say that is very likely, but just wanting to convince you that you can go forward with registering for the test regardless of the status of your mentioned training registration.
